'Absolute gentleman' - Tributes paid to the sudden passing of Carlow man

Tributes have been paid to Paul Maher of Ballynoe, Ardattin Co. Carlow, following his sudden but peaceful death on February 25, 2024.

The RIP.ie death notice read: "Paul, beloved husband of Nicky and much loved father of Shane & Louise.

"Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife, son, daughter, daughter in-law Cara, son in-law Nick, grandchildren Aila, Isabella, Aoibhí, Cómhall & Callan, sister Kay, brothers in-law Vince & Gerry, mother in-law Nancy, sister in-law Michaela, nephews, nieces, Gary, Peter, Michael & Lauren, relatives, kind neighbours and his many friends."

One condolence read that Paul was "an absolute gentleman and always such a pleasure to meet and enjoyed our many chats", while another said he was "a talented golfer, and he will be missed by all those of us who came to know him in Mount Wolseley."

Paul is reposing in Kearney's Funeral Home, Fenagh on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 11am in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ardattin.
