RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow man who was 'Always a gentleman' following his passing

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Michael Cooney of Ashgrove, Tullow Rd, Carlow and formerly of Moorefield Park, Newbridge, County Kildare.
Michael passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on March 26th, 2025, at Sonas Nursing Home, Tullow, County Carlow.
Beloved husband of the late Josie, much loved father of Alan, Ciaran, Aidan, Sandra, Lorraine, Siobhan and Serena, adored grandfather of Danielle, Amanda, Sean, Darragh, Shane, Conor, Megan, Nathan, Cian, Aaron, Abbie and Joseph, cherished brother of the late Lee and treasured son of the late Tommy and Kathleen.
He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, son-in-law John, daughters-in-law Ann, Susie and Carina, brother-in-law Christy, sisters-in-law Chris and Phyllis, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:

Funeral Arrangements.
Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq., Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) from 4pm on Friday March 28th, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal on Saturday at 1.30pm to The Holy Family Church, Askea arriving for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.
