Tributes flood in for 'lovely and kind ' Carlow native following her passing
Breda Rooney (née Higgins) - Monday 12th August 2024
Tributes have been paid following the passing of Breda Rooney (née Higgins) of Sleaty Cross, Graiguecullen, Carlow and formerly of Riverstown, County Sligo.
Breda passed away unexpectedly on the 12th of August 2024 at her home.
Beloved mother of Natasha and Mark, adored grandmother of Dylan, Ethan and Seren and cherished sister of Joe and the late Maureen.
Breda will be sadly missed by her loving son, daughter and their father Bill, grandchildren, son-in-law Mathew, Mark’s fiancée Laura, brother, sister-in-law Rita, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:
"Condolences to Bill, Natasha, Mark, The Rooney and Higgins families. We were so sorry too hear of Bredas passing.Breda was a lovely and kind lady. We had many good nights in the Little Owl and Cobblers. We will always remember her and all the good times we shared together. Rest in peace Breda"
Another reads:
"Very sorry to hear of Breda's death we have some fantastic memories of nights in the Little Owl, sincere sympathy to Natasha & Mark and the extended family. May Breda rest in eternal peace."
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq, Carlow on Sunday, August 18th, from 5pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Monday, to The Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am.
A Private cremation will take place at a later date.
