A Day with the Ducketts was a two day festival that took place in Duckett’s Grove Historic House and Walled Gardens on September 8 and 9.

The event recreated the setting of Duckett’s Grove as it was in the early 1900’s through a series of exhibitions, tours and demonstrations.

It received high praise on social media with Dan McInerney saying, "Congratulations John, Eileen and all the fabulous team for organizing this wonderful weekend...everybody who participated deserves huge credit.

"One of the gems in Carlow’s tourism product, and you all did the County proud."

Unused buildings were reopened and used to illustrate living and working conditions of the Duckett’s and their workers.

Demonstrations included:weaving; basket making; butter making; blacksmith; exhibition of artefacts and images and documents dating from the period; steam engines, horse carts and carriages and bee keeping.
