GALLERY: 'Eugene's Army' tackles Hanover Park with trees cut to make amenity more visible

'Thanks to all who helped. Great day's work. We have more work to do and we will return soon...'

Local volunteer Eugene Walsh has done incredible work at Hanover Park with several bags filled up with rubbish and the trees and shrubs cleaned up.

In a post on Facebook, Eugene said: "Great work in Hanover Park, Carlow Town. Loads of work carried out by eight great members of the public who gave their time to make Carlow beautiful.

"And also to make the park clean and safe for all to use in the future."

The work the volunteers carried out included strimming long grass, cutting low hanging tree branches, litter picking, cutting shrubs, clearing thorn bushes and felling the odd tree making the park more visable to all.

Eugene added: "Thanks to all who helped. Great day's work. We have more work to do and we will return soon."
