Full list of winners on night of 'celebration and thanks' at Carlow’s Pride of Place awards

The awards took place on Wednesday night

Carlow County Council hosted a night of celebration and thanks for all the communities in the county who participated in the Carlow’s Pride of Place Competition 2018  in Mount Wolsley Hotel, Tullow on Wednesday the October 24. 

The overall winners in the Towns and Villages Category were the community of Clonegal and Mount Leinster Park were the overall winners in the Estates Category which were announced by the Chief Executive of the County Council, Kathleen Holohan.

The awards were presented by the Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council Cllr Brian O’Donoghue, Mayor of the Municipal District of Carlow Cllr Ken Murnane and Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District of Muinebheag Cllr Willie Quinn.

Carlow County Council presented over 60 prizes to the value of €20,000 to community groups throughout the county.

Categories included Estates, Schools, Litter Free, Burial Grounds, Heritage and Environment and Towns and Villages.

Cllr Andrea Dalton, who took the pictures in the gallery, said: "Congratulations to all the nominees and prize winners at tonight's Pride of Place Awards. It was a great opportunity to acknowledge and reward the hundreds of volunteers that work so hard to keep their locality looking beautiful."
