Drink driving, dangerous overtaking and failure to stop leads Cork gardaí to arrest
The driver failed to stop and evaded gardaí in pursuit before eventually stopping
Gardaí in Cork were alerted to a van driving dangerously and overtaking traffic by using the hard shoulder on the M8 close to Glanmire Co. Cork yesterday evening, Tuesday, February 13.
On approach the driver failed to stop when prompted by gardaí. Additional assistance was provided by two garda Units from Mitchelstown and Fermoy, and the vehicle was eventually safely stopped.
It quickly became clear why the driver was so eager to evade gardaí as cans and bottles of drink were observed in the passenger's seat of the van.
