Thirty-four people arrested in 'comprehensive policing operation'

Gardaí across north Dublin have made 34 arrests following a "comprehensive policing operation".

The arrests were made as part of Operation Thor, which is designed to tackle the anticipated increase in the number of burglaries and associated criminal activity that usually occur in winter months by undertaking targeted enforcement and preventative activity.

Of the 34 persons arrested, 30 are male and four are female.

32 have been charged with a total of 70 offences including offences for burglary and possession of stolen property.

Of those arrested, 24 individuals are due to appear before Dublin District Courts at the Criminal Courts of Justice and Clover Hill on Friday morning, January 12.

Two people remain in Garda custody at this time and eight people have already appeared before the Courts.
