Irish parents warned as Shein urges customers to stop using this children's item 'immediately'

The online retail giant has pulled the children's toy from the market due to a safety risk
A warning has been issued to Irish parents as Shein has issued an urgent recall of one of its popular children's products due to safety concerns.
According to the notice from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), a choking risk has been reported with a Crab Shaped Toy sold on the online marketplace.
Small parts can detach from the toy and become accessible for children, posing a risk of choking if ingested.

The recalled toy has the SKC number sl2410073431734267 and was manufactured in Shantou Chenghai Chengyi Toy Factory.
The CCPC said there are approximately 73 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
They added that if customers wish to contact SHEIN for a refund or have any concerns or questions about this product, they can contact Shein customer services by email at [email protected].
A spokesperson for SHEIN said it takes product safety very seriously and is committed to offering safe and reliable products to customers.
They added that the Crab Shaped Toy was removed from sale globally across SHEIN sites in July this year.
"Earning and maintaining the trust of our consumers is paramount, and we are fully committed to ensuring the products we offer are safe and compliant. All of our vendors are required to comply with SHEIN’s code of conduct and stringent safety standards, and must also abide by the relevant laws and regulations of the markets where we operate.
"As a matter of protocol, SHEIN acts immediately to remove products that are suspected of non-compliance while we conduct an investigation."
SHEIN says it also partners with internationally-recognised product safety and quality testing agencies, including Bureau Veritas, Intertek, QIMA, SGS, and TÜV SÜD to support our efforts to keep non-compliant products off our sites.
"Where instances of non-compliance are identified we take immediate action to protect our customers, which can include removing the vendor from our platform,” said the spokesperson.
