Singer's cause of death confirmed by coroner's court in London

A coroner's court in London has confirmed that Sinéad O'Connor died of "natural causes".

The legendary Irish singer died at the age of 56 on July 26, 2023.

"This is to confirm that Ms O'Connor died of natural causes," a spokesman for Southwark Coroners Court said.

"The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death. If an inquest is to be opened, the date of the brief public hearing will be provided on our website."

O'Connor (also known as Shuhada Sadaqat) was found 'unresponsive' after police were called to her flat in Herne Hill in south east London, where she had recently moved to.

She is survived by three of her children following the tragic death of her 17-year-old son Shane in 2022.
