Social media fury as RTÉ's Liveline hears 'Guaranteed Irish' means 'sweet f*ck all'

The debate topic was ‘Are Guaranteed Irish products made in Ireland?.’
The topic came from listeners in America who contacted Duffy on the topic, this time last year.
One listener who contacted Duffy, purchased Galtee rashers and sausages found out they were not from Ireland at all.
The debate saw listeners phone in to say it is difficult to get trademarked with Guaranteed Irish, including an Irish business man who prides himself on being 100% Irish in his trade.
Bríd O’Connell, ceo of Guaranteed Irish said: “Guaranteed Irish is the national symbol of trust that helps consumers and businesses identify products and services that are altogether better for the lives of our community. However, the days of Guaranteed Irish being made in Ireland are long gone, we are the broader more diverse version of Irishness.”
Many people took to X, formerly known as Twitter, with outrage and feel ‘ripped off’ listening to the debate.
One user said: “What I've learned from Liveline today is that "Guaranteed Irish" means sweet f*ck all when it comes to buying products. People are being fooled thinking they are buying 100% made in Ireland products. Bríd is full of plámás and fakery.”
Others have the same opinion on the topic, as another user said: “This one telling everyone the Guaranteed Irish label is just a PR stunt. She can stick it where the sun don't shine. I will avoid it in future. What a rip off."
Many listeners felt frustrated even more by the end of the debate as people still had no idea what Guaranteed Irish is.
One user took to X to say: “So what exactly has got the Guaranteed Irish symbol on it after all that Joe?”
