Independent TD tries to get to work in Leinster house from rural Limerick village
ONE RURAL TD has decided to try 'Eamon Ryan's way' to get from his home village in county Limerick to Leinster House.
Independent Ireland TD Richard O'Donoghue has shared a video on TikTok, showing how a car or bike share scheme might look like in rural Ireland.
The humorous shows Mr O'Donoghue first attempting to make use of a village car-share scheme, similar to one proposed by Mr Ryan in 2019, then a motorised bicycle and trailer, to make his way from his home village of Granagh in county Limerick up the N7 to work in Leinster House.
Mr Ryan first suggested such a scheme in October 2019 on Virgin Media's Ireland AM, where a village would have a set amount of cars and there “would always be one available” through a collection and drop-off system.
The minster suggested that a village of 300 people needs just 30 cars to operate.
