ALERT: Long stretch of busy road in Carlow may close for up to four months

Carlow County Council have issued a notice of the intention for the temporary closure of a busy road in the county.

The proposed closure will stretch along Hacketstown Road (R726), leaving Carlow Town, from it's junction with Bennekerry (L1009) to it's junction with the Killerig Road (R418).

The purpose of this close is to facilitate Uisce Eireann in the carrying out of essential maintenance works along the route.

The dates of closure are from 17th November 2023 until 29th March 2024. During this time diversion routes will be sign posted and local access will be maintained.
