Carlow All Time Greats: Profile #16 Eugene Walsh
Eugene Walsh is a retired carpenter/joiner from Carlow who spends his days cleaning up Carlow Town.
He has devoted thousands of hours of his own spare time to clean up the River Burrin and Barrow and he has transformed Hanover Park into a beautiful public amenity again and repainted the monument after a public appeal for donations of paint.
He is part of a group set up in recent years called: "Cairdre on Naduir" or "Friends of Nature" which carries out projects to greatly improve the local community. He also installs bird boxes around the town.
Eugene is a volunteer that Carlow is very lucky to have in its community.
