Almost fifty warning letters issued by Carlow County Council under the Waste Management Act

A total of forty-six letters of warning have been issued in County Carlow from the start of the year to date under the Waste Management Act.
Thirty-nine advisory letters were also issued under the same act yet no fines were issued.
The Waste Management Act imposes a general duty of care on holders of waste.
It states that a person may not hold, transport, recover or dispose of waste in a manner that causes, or is likely to cause, environmental pollution.
