New Proposal applications open for large mural on Carlow's busiest street

Carlow County Council have sent a request for proposal for a Mural at the former Crotty's Premises at Lower Tullow Street Carlow.

This wall is a canvas upon which an artist is invited to paint. The commissioned work has a dual role – to bring colour and wonder to the street while also communicating a message of “our town centre”. 

The aims for the project are as follows: 

Encourage the renewal and revitalisation of the town by brightening up key areas
Build strong relations through engagement with the community and business stakeholders of the town
Further drive the current momentum towards a positive image of Carlow Town as a vibrant place to live, visit and work.

The entire size of the wall will be available for painting, the size of the wall is 13m in width and 7.5 m in height approximately.

The requirements for a proposal of an application is as follows: 

a brief resumé outlining experience to date
an outline (i.e. drawing) of the proposed artwork including an explanation of subject matter (text description)
examples of previous work - please supply images of previous work completed.
please provide a breakdown of the costings for the artwork of between €5,000- €9,000 (to include all taxes where applicable)
two letters of reference or details of two referees.
