Carlow Councillor posts about suspect looking drinking water in Carlow

Carlow Councillor Will Paton has released a photo on his social media channels of some very suspect looking tap water in the Tullow area.

The photo he released shows a glass of water poured straight from the tap that is extremely cloudy with users under the post saying: "You can't drink the water it's disgusting to taste it smells like bleach what ever there putting in the water right."

Another shocked user wrote: "Ya my water was bad all day."

Cllr Paton himself on the post says:

"I have had a number of queries regarding cloudy water in Tullow. So far I have not received any notices of any difficulty from Irish Water or Carlow County Council.

I suspect (not 100% sure though) that this is as a result of a burst water main in Rathvilly last night."
The reason for the tap water being this milky, cloudy colour is unknown with Cllr Paton thinking it may be from a burst mains in Rathvilly. Members of the public should stay alert to any notices from Irish water in relation to the tap water in their homes.
