Free Carnival coming to County Carlow at The Exchange

Carlow County Council, in association with Sonix Entertainment Ltd, is thrilled to announce the Carlow Carnival, set to take place from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd August 2024 at The Exchange in Potato Market, Carlow Town Centre. This family-friendly event promises to bring joy and excitement to children aged 3-10, offering a delightful array of games and rides including the Carousel, Chairoplane and Tea Cup Ride, various games such as smash a can fun fair stall and Jenga and face painting.

Tickets for Carlow Carnival are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with each family slot lasting one hour. Each session includes 45 minutes of playtime and a 15-minute transition period to ensure smooth and efficient switchovers between groups. Families are requested to arrive 10 minutes before their allocated time. The first session begins at 10:30 AM, and the final admission is at 3:30 PM. Tickets are free of charge and available on Eventbrite.

Cllr. Fintan Phelan, Mayor of Carlow, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: "Carlow Carnival is a wonderful initiative that brings our community together and provides a fun-filled experience for our young residents. We are delighted to support such an event that fosters joy and entertainment in the heart of Carlow Town.", Fintan continued to say “as a father I understand that play and fun is not just a pastime; it is a crucial part of childhood that fosters creativity, joy, and emotional well-being. Ensuring our children have opportunities for fun and happiness is fundamental to their development and our community's future”.

Linda Culleton, Economic Development Officer organiser of the event said "We are excited to see The Exchange come alive with the sounds of laughter and joy. Events like the Carlow Carnival not only offer great entertainment for families but also contribute to the vibrancy and economic vitality of our town." Linda concluded by saying “Carlow Carnival offers a unique opportunity for families to enjoy a day of fun and excitement in the heart of Carlow Town. Alongside the carnival, visitors can explore our vibrant local shops and savour delicious food from our wonderful eateries, making it a truly memorable experience for everyone.

Fergal Browne, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council said "Council-supported events play a pivotal role in fostering community spirit, driving local economic growth, and enhancing the cultural fabric of our society. These events not only bring people together but also showcase the unique talents and traditions that define our community.
