They have also created a promotional to go along with the initiative
Carlow GAA have launched a brand new initiative in association with the Irish Blood Transfusion Service to encourage patrons of the GAA to donate blood. The initiative is in memory of Oisín Kelly, a Myshall and Carlow GAA player who passed away on August 10th 2023 from osteosarcoma (bone cancer).

The post by the Carlow GAA announcing the new initiative reads as follows:
"Carlow GAA in association with the Irish Blood Transfusion Service have launched a health and well being initiative to encourage patrons of the GAA to donate blood. As part of the initiative a promotional video was also launched, in memory of Myshall and Carlow GAA player Oisín Kelly who passed away on 10th August 2023 from osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Oisín was a blood recipient and throughout his illness he campaigned for the importance of donating.
Through this video it is hoped awareness will be heightened regarding blood donation. We would ask that the video is circulated through all GAA clubs via all social media platforms.
A Special Word of thanks to President of the GAA Jarleth Burns, and to Ard Stiúrthóir Tom Ryan who attended the launch in the Talbot Hotel Carlow, both commenting on this being a hugely important initiative. Also a huge thanks to our partners in The Irish Blood Transfusion Services, and most especially thank you to Oisín's family who assisted and endorsed the making of the video.
