At the most recent Carlow Council meeting which took place on the 14th of October, Councillor Daniel Pender has proposed the use of artificial intelligence.
When talking about the use of AI the Councillor described it more "efficient" and would help with an ongoing "staff crisis".

When proposing the idea of using an AI chat bot to help speed up questions that people have for the Council, Chief Executive of Carlow County Council, Coilín O'Reilly said "You must have bugged my office." As he was only just talking about the use of AI.
Not only was there talk about the use of an AI bot to help answer questions people would have for the Council, Cllr Pender said it may even be used for housing application grants.
And would help with an ongoing "staffing crisis" within the Carlow County Council.
