Carlow County Council have received a planning application for the construction of 48 new homes in County Carlow and also the construction of a childcare facility in the region of the new homes as well.

The planning application was received by the Carlow County Council on the 5th of December 2024, there is no estimated date for the decision on the planning application as the application is currently in the incompleted application phase.

The planning application was submitted by Byrne & Byrne Limited and the details of the planning application read as follows:

The construction of  48 residential units (43no.- three bed dwellings, 2no.- four bed dwellings, & 3no.- two bed dwellings), a Childcare Facility (of 319sq.m)

All associated car parking, play areas, landscaping, and all associated site works to include a construction access from the partially complete Carlow Inner Relief Road direct to the proposed site.

The subject site has a gross area of 2.739ha and is located at Mortarstown, Carlow, Co. Carlow with proposed access from the partially completed Carlow Inner Relief Road and through the practically complete Cluain Bui residential development.
