Carlow Council have used almost 200 tonnes of salt grit to try clear roads across the County

Carlow County Council have used approximately 200 tonnes of salt grit over the last 24 hours in an effort to clear snow and ice on the roads and attempt to make the roads safer for drivers and pedestrians across County Carlow.

The roads still remain hazardous, so caution on the roads is still recommended.

"Approximately 200 tonnes of salt grit used over the last 24 hours in County Carlow! Supplies fully replenished and ready to go again during the night. (last night)

Conditions remain hazardous, please use extreme caution on footpaths and roads."
