A total of eight Red Weather Warnings have been issued for Storm Eowyn by Met Eireann
Carlow County Council have opened the severe weather centre following the red warnings in place due to Storm Éowyn.
The severe weather centre is open from midnight on Friday till further notice in the county.

Some of the advice from the Carlow County Council:
"A RED WARNING means “shelter in place” i.e. everybody should be indoors by 2am and not leave that place under any circumstances before 10am.
The potential effects of this storm are:
>Structural Damage
>Fallen Trees
>Significant Power cuts
>Large items being thrown around
>Damage to communications infrastructure
Members of the public should do the following:
>Shelter in place for the duration of the RED WARNING
>Secure any large loose items that are in the open prior to the storm
>Ensure electrical devices are charged
>Stay away from fallen wires and assume all fallen wires are live
>Check on vulnerable neighbours before and after the storm
>Make sure animals are safe
Please remember that things can be replaced but people cannot. Please do not underestimate the potential impacts of this storm.
All Carlow County Council buildings and public facing services will be closed tomorrow Friday 24th January as staff will work remotely.
We will be prioritising dealing with clean up from Storm Éowyn.
Public Transport will not operate during a RED WARNING."
