A local County Carlow park has received huge funding of €45,000 for predevelopment works to take place in Tullow Town, County Carlow.
The new park development is the 1979 Park in Tullow Town and planning is expected to proceed in Q3 of 2025.
Carlow Councillor Ben Ward posted on his Instagram account writing:
Funding of €45,000 secured for predevelopment works on new 1798 park in Tullow Town.
This funding will allow the council to engage consultants and prepare plans/documentation so that we can proceed with part 8 planning in Q3 of 2025.
This is very welcome news and something that I have been working on with the Tullow town team, Carlow County Council, the Department of Rural & Community Development and the local community in Tullow.

The Department of Rural and Community Development has awarded Carlow County Council €45,000 for the development the 1798 Park off the Shillelagh Road as well as the development of a pre-teen playground for the younger children of Tullow at the same site next to the Dublin Road,
Separately an area for the town's teenagers will be developed within the existing town park next to the River Slaney.
