Carlow County Council have received a planning application for the construction of 83 new homes in Carlow Town.

The planning application was received by the Carlow Council on the 20th of March 2025 and was submitted by Nesselside Builders.

The location of the proposed works is Browneshill Road Lower and Link Road, Chapelstown in Carlow Town.

The list of proposed works contained in the planning works read as follows:

The development will comprise of the construction of 83 residential units and all ancillary works consisting of:

66, 2 storey houses (18 No. 3 bed terraced units.

12 No. 2 bed terraced units.

36 No. 3 bed semi-detached units.

5 No. Single storey houses.

12 No. duplex apartment units within 2 No. 2 storey blocks, consisting of:

6 No. 2 bed units and 6 No. 2 bed units with balconies on the eastern elevation at 1st floor level.

The development will also consist of: a new vehicular access from Browneshill Road Lower; the provision of 2 No. new pedestrian accesses at the Link Road and Browneshill Road Lower; 166 No. grade level car parking spaces; 1 No. bicycle storage shelter (18 no. spaces).

11 No. bin storage areas. The development includes all associated landscaping works (including the provision of public and private open space areas), boundary treatments, site development works, site services (foul, surface water drainage, water supply) and all other associated site excavation, infrastructural and site development works.
