Carlow County Council has given the conditional green light for the construction of 64 new homes to be built in County Carlow.

The location of the development is set to the Lands to the west of the Link Road, Chapelstown, County Carlow.

The planning application was submitted on the 29th of May 2024 by Elmendorf Ltd.

The development as listed in the planning application reads as follows:

The development of 64 no. houses (8 no. four bedroom and 56 no. three bedroom houses), which will form Phase 1 of the overall development of the wider site and will comprise of the following mix of two storey semi-detached and terraced housing units within an overall mix of:

46 no. two storey semi-detached dwelling units.

18 no. two storey terraced dwelling units that are contained within 5 no. terraces.

The development will include the creation of a new vehicular access and a separate pedestrian access into the site off the Link Road (R725) that will provide access to all houses that will each be served by 2 no. car parking spaces (128 car parking spaces overall).

The decision made by the Carlow County Council contains 29 conditions that must be followed during the fulfillment of the planning application.

The decision made by the Carlow County Council  is subject to a 4 week appeals period whereby appeals can be made to An Bord Pleanála and is not currently a Granted Permission.
