The stats have been revealed for the first week of the new static speed camera on the N80 in County Carlow.

The location of the speed camera is on a major stretch of Carlow road, the N80, and commenced operations on the 23rd of May 2025.

Prosecution of speeding offences takes place by Fixed Charge Notice, and the current rate is a €160 as well as 3 penalty points.

The stats were posted by Cllr Ben Ward on his social media account and the stats read:

"The Fixed camera on the N80 became operational at 12pm on 23rd May 2025. In its first week of operation from 23rd May 2025 12pm to 31st May 2025, it detected and issued speeding fines to 174 drivers."
