Carlow County Council have announced a temporary pause to housing grant applications.
The temporary pause is in effect from the 30th of June 2025. With this pause expected to last until the end of October 2025.

The grants that the Carlow County Council will no longer receive applicants for is:
Housing Adaptation Grants
Mobility Aid Grants
Housing for Older Persons
The reasoning for the pause by the Carlow Council reads:
"This pause is necessary to ensure that the Council can fulfil existing commitments and prioritise applicants with the most urgent medical and care needs.
The situation will be reviewed at the end of October 2025.
The temporary pause is expected to remain in place until November 2025, when it is anticipated that applications may reopen under the 2026 budget allocation."
The Carlow Council also want to note that:
"Any applications received during the pause will be recorded but returned, along with an explanation of the current budgetary constraints.
