Carlow households can dispose of old mattresses for just €5 as part of once-off event

People in Carlow in need of shifting old mattresses can do so for just €5 this week as a once-off Mattress Recycling Event will be taking place for local homeowners.

Carlow County Council announced the event which will take place at Powerstown Civic Amenity Site on the Kilkenny Road from Tuesday, 5 August to Saturday, 9 August.

Households will be allowed to dispose of their old mattresses at the site for just €5 per mattress, with each customer permitted to bringing a maximum of 3 mattresses.

The event will take place between 8.30am and 4pm from Tuesday to Friday, then from 8.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday. The last vehicles will be admitted up to 3.40pm during the week and until 12.15pm on Saturday.

The Mattress Recycling Event is part of Carlow County Council’s commitment to promoting sustainable waste management and reducing illegal dumping.
