RIP: Carlow woman Martha Nolan-O’Slattara's funeral to take place on Wednesday

Martha Nolan-O’Slattara’s funeral will take place next Wednesday in Carlow

The service will be held next week at the Cathedral of the Assumption at 10am, followed by a burial in St Mary's Cemetery. 

The 33 year old entrepreneur was pronounced dead by emergency services at a yacht club in Montauk in the early hours of Tuesday morning, August 7. 

The circumstances of Martha’s death are still unknown.

Following a post-mortem examination, the New York Police Department said that there was no evidence of violence in Martha’s death.

The Irish Independent has reported that Ms Nolan-O’Slattara’s family have since engaged a high-profile criminal defence attorney.

The death notice states that Martha “will be sadly missed by her loving mother and her mother's partner Patrick, sister, aunts, uncles, partner, her father Seamus, grandparents, extended family relatives and her large circle of friends in Ireland and the U.S.” 

Taoiseach Mícheal Martin has paid tribute to Martha, saying: “It is an absolute devastating blow to the family. A young, beautiful, very talented, creative woman.”

Mícheal Martin further commented: “Our thoughts and our prayers are with the family” and that the death “is a devastating loss for the family and for the community entirely”.

Martha Nolan-O’Slattara worked as a successful fashion designer and creative consultant. Before moving to the U.S., she obtained an undergraduate and master’s degree in business and digital marketing from UCD.
