A new biodiversity garden is almost ready to be opened in Carlow following the efforts of local people.
Based in Tullow, the garden is a result of locals coming together to transform an empty patch of ground into "a living haven for pollinators, wildlife, and the whole community."
In a post in the Facebook group 'All About Carlow,' it was revealed that the garden is roughly two weeks away from being ready to open, meaning it should be ready around the beginning of February.

There is still a little bit of work to be done before it can be officially opened.
"Already this space shows what can be achieved when neighbours and local groups come together with a shared purpose," the post states.
The garden will be the first of its kind for Tullow and is expected to be enjoyed for "generations to come."
The Tullow Tidy Towns and Climate Action Committee, Carlow County Development Partnership CLG, Tullow Mens Shed, and volunteers from surrounded areas worked together to create the biodiversity garden.
Those groups were supported by Carlow County Council.
