The Kilkenny/Carlow Divisional Burglary Response Unit carried out a checkpoint in Ballon earlier this week.

The car was seized as there was no tax disc displayed and the insurance disc and NCT disc displayed were "from a different vehicle".

Gardaí said: "Court prosecution to follow."
