Cillian Murphy looked cool as a cucumber boarding his Aer Lingus flight today to head to Hollywood in preparation for the 96th Academy Awards.

The typically reserved actor rocked up in a casual denim jacket as the flight crew welcomed him aboard and even managed to get a few photos with the star.

Cillian is nominated for his role as Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, in Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed Oppenheimer.

He is nominated alongside Paul Giamatti for The Holdovers, Bradley Cooper for Maestro, Colman Domingo for Rustin and Jeffrey Wright for American Fiction.

Murphy has already won several awards for his portrayal of Oppenheimer including a Golden Globe and a SAG Award.

Today FM posted the sweet video of Cork-born Cillian on X, formerly Twitter, today with the caption,

"Why does this make us so emotional.

"Cillian Murphy boards Aer Lingus on his way to Hollywood for the Oscars.

"Cillian is nominated for Best Actor for his role in Oppenheimer. G'wan lad, make us proud."
