Ballinkillen Teammates Forever Challenge on this weekend

Clubs from four counties involved on the day in memory of the boys
Ballinkillen's fourth Teammates Forever Challenge will take place this Sunday with over 200 children expected from four different counties in remembrance of Eoghan and Ruairí Chada.
The hurling competition runs annually in the Carlow village for the two brothers who lost their lives in tragic circumstances on July 29, 2013.
The clubs involved this year include: Killeagh from Cork, Cuala from Dublin, Blacks and Whites from Skeough, Setanta Ceatharlach, and Naoimh Brid from Leighlinbridge, which takes in four counties in all.
Ballinkillen are pleased to be welcoming the All-Ireland Senior Club Champions Cuala and it is hoped they will inspire the young Carlow hurlers.
Along with the various clubs they expect a big following of parents, grandparents and supporters.
The remembrance will go on from 10am to approximately 3pm at Ballinkillen Hurling Club.
Organiser Roy Kavanagh said: "I was a coach of Ruairí. The boys spent most of their lives on the hurling pitch.
"I wanted to do something to remember them, to bring teammates together to let them know that no matter what happens you always have your teammates.
"In twenty years' time I hope my own young lads and club members keep it going. I wanted to make it national and we've different counties every year. We fundraise everything through sponsorship so there's no cost to anybody that comes and everybody gets fed.
"People can maybe buy a raffle ticket if they want."
Tomorrow, Carlow Live will publish an interview with the boys' mother, Kathleen, ahead of the community event this Sunday.
