Local Carlow gardens, Altamont Gardens, have received the prestigious Green Flag award for 2024/2025.
The gardens received the award last week and are among 120 Irish parks, gardens, greenways, and wildlife sanctuaries.

"We are thrilled to announce that our gardens have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award for 2024/2025 a symbol of excellence in green space management. This achievement reflects not only the hard work of our dedicated staff but also the invaluable contribution of the local community.
The international Green Flag Award was awarded to 120 Irish parks, gardens, greenways and wildlife sanctuaries around the country today.
In the Republic of Ireland, An Taisce Environmental Education is the national operator, and has delivered the Green Flag Award since 2016.
The Green Flag Award is a non-profit international accreditation program that recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces."
