Carlow County Council have received a planning application for the construction of a new warehouse with the intention of using the warehouse to be used for storing whiskey barrels, including the demolition of 2 dwellings.

The location of the proposed works is at Teagasc Oakpark Crops Research Centre, Carlow, R93 WE12.

The planning application was received by the Carlow County Council on the 12th of November 2024 with a decision set to be made by the Council on the 15th of January 2025.

The details listed in the planning application are as follows:

The construction of single storey warehouse building and associated site works including connection to existing onsite watermain, surface water management, concrete paving, demolition of 2no. dwellings and all ancillary site works.

The proposed warehouse building will be used for the storage of whiskey barrels.

The application is also in close proximity to a number of protected structure.
