OMG Studio is a tanning salon located on Kennedy Street in Carlow.

OMG Studio - which provides tanning, hair and beauty services - after nine months in business in Carlow Town has been nominated for a national award at the Irish Hair and Beauty Awards.

The top ten salons from across the Ireland have been selected and will be competing for the title of All-Ireland “Tanning Salon of the Year 2018” on September 2 at the Crown Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel.

The glitzy event endeavors to show appreciation for those in the hair and beauty industry that leave us looking and feeling fantastic; from salons to the talented individuals who work within them.

Kamil Szymanski of OMG Studio said: "We stood out from the rest of the tanning salons because of our innovative approach to tanning.

"Some of the things that make us special include: we have different bed types with varying ratio of UVA/UVB rays.

"It is important because everyone skin is different and needs different amount of UVA/UVB – if we adjust bed type properly the client tans faster and spends less time on the sunbed. Bed types are double bronzing, deep bronzing, hybrid.

"All our sunbeds fulfil the UV exposure EU norms. Our staff have a background in biomedical sciences, therefore are very well equipped on informing clients on best tanning practices, UV exposure and skincare.

"We use hybrid beds with red light tubes that have been scientifically proven to have anti-ageing affects ie. reduce fine lines, stretch marks/scar tissue and wrinkles.

"In addition, the tan obtained from these beds is longer lasting. We only use selected tanning cosmetics from different brands that are proven to work and are skin conditioning first! Plus tanning.

"Of course, the premises are ultra clean and beds are carefully sanitised after each use."
