Background info on Carlow CU
Carlow District Credit Union Ltd, has been at the heart of the community since 1963. Their core values are co-operation, equality and mutual self-help.
They are a co-op not for profit based financial institution owned by over 30,000 of members who save and borrow on a regular basis.
The Board of Directors, volunteers, highly experienced management team and staff’s priority is to continually safeguard and improve the financial well-being of members.
To date, most lending has been issued to Members for personal reasons such as Car purchase and repairs, Home Improvement, Wedding, Education, Holidays and much more.
Their common bond area increased since 2015 with three rural Credit Unions merging into Carlow CU. Since 2015 three other Credit Unions merged, namely, Ballon/Rathoe, Rathvilly and Mayo/Doonane.
These mergers now extend the common bond area well into rural areas near to Bunclody, Co. Wexford, Donard, Co. Wicklow and Timahoe, Co. Laois.
These offices would have been helping rural members save and borrow for several years.
Up to now they have not been visually active in the farming community but the Board of Directors have approved this new Agri Loan, which they hope will provide an alternative finance option for farmers when they require finance to operate their farm.
If you are not already a member, you can join and apply for a loan on the same day.
