Carlow native lands over €5,000 loot from weekend flutter after 267/1 accumulator
Big win!
The champagne was popping at the weekend for one County Carlow native when a flutter on the horses quickly turned into a whopping four-figure windfall.
The anonymous customer placed the wager in their local BoyleSports shop on Saturday afternoon, placing €20 on four horses to win at the big meeting of the day at Sandown.
The hair-raising journey began with 3/1 selection Getaway Trump winning the 1.50, quickly followed up by Black Corton (11/4) and Talkischeap (9/2) who won the 2.25 and 3.35 by comfortable margins leaving the bet one leg away from landing.
It all came down to the 4.10, but any nerves were brushed aside as 9/4 favourite Younevercall streaked clear by 9 lengths to complete the 267/1 accumulator and trigger the payout.
The lucky punter was able to return to the shop to collect a grand total of €5,362.50 for the winners who had all crossed the line in the space of just over two hours.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: "This was a stunning afternoon’s work from one of our Carlow customers and they deserve a firm pat on the back for their savvy selections.
"Plenty will soon be planning their summer holidays and we hope this big win comes in useful."
