Carlow pair win a huge €1 million on EuroMillions with hilarious story to go with it

The syndicate of two bought their ticket in Mace in Leghlinbridge when shopping for a lightbulb
A syndicate of two in County Carlow were huge winners in this weeks Lotto as they managed to scoop a huge €1,005,000 win and they did so in a crazy fashion.
When shopping for a lightbulb the winner decided to leave the shop they were in because of the queue and went in to Mace in Leighlinbridge and that's where they picked up their winning ticket. Going to show that a bit of impatience really paid off!
The ticket was purchased on the 14th of February and the winner comments on the funny story of how they came to buy the Lotto ticket:
“I was in a different shop, and three people were ahead of me, taking their time buying Lottery tickets. I didn’t have the patience to wait! So, I stopped off in Leighlinbridge to pick up a lightbulb and a EuroMillions ticket. What a decision that turned out to be!”
The duo struggled to read the ticket, knowing their numbers didn’t align, but their winning raffle number matched. “We scanned the ticket on the app, and it said, ‘Contact the National Lottery’, so that’s when we knew it must’ve been a winner.”
They celebrated their visit to Lottery HQ by treating themselves to a stay at a 5-star hotel. They’re hoping to put their newfound fortunes towards looking after their family and loved ones, along with a cruise in the future.
