Carlow's first padel courts and club are set to launch this coming August in the Talbot Hotel in County Carlow.
Padel is a sport that has started gaining some serious traction online in the past year and people in Carlow will now get the chance to try it for themselves.
Padel is dynamic, fast-paced racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. Played in doubles on an enclosed court about one-third the size of a tennis court, padel is easy to learn, incredibly fun, and suitable for all ages.
Carlow Tourism posted the news on their Facebook account explaining what the sport is:
"Padel is a sport for everyone - regardless of age, fitness level, or experience. Whether you're completely new to racket sports or already play tennis or squash, padel offers a fun, fast-paced experience that's easy to pick up and incredibly social. Beginners will love how quickly they can get into the game, while seasoned players will enjoy the strategic twist padel adds. It's ideal for families, friends, and groups, thanks to it's doubles format and inclusive style of play. Fitness enthusiasts will also benefit from a high-energy, low-impact workout that's suitable all year round. If you're looking for a fun new activity in Carlow, padel at Talbot Hotel Carlow is the perfect sport to try!"
