Carlow GAA clubs have been invited to nominate dedicated volunteers in their club for the 2025 Beko Club Champion and the chance of winning €1,000 towards brand new sports equipment.

Beko and Leinster GAA launched the initiative last week which is now in its ninth year. The accolade of Beko Club Champion rewards and celebrates local GAA club heroes who go above and beyond to help their local community and club.

Last year, Tom Dunne and Adrian O'Neill of Naomh Bríd GAA were chosen as the 2024 Beko Club Champions for their commitment to the club.

Returning this year, people in Carlow have been encouraged to enter by submitting details via a simple online mechanic. To enter, people are asked to explain in no more than 200 words which volunteer in their club deserves to be a Beko Club Champion.

Alternatively, there is the option to upload a short video to a club’s social media platform using #BekoClubChampion.

All Leinster GAA clubs can enter before the closing date for submissions on Friday, 26 September at 5pm. One club from each county will be awarded €1,000 worth of training equipment, as selected by an independent judging panel.

Present on the day to launch the 2025 Beko Club Champion were Wexford legend Larry O’Gorman, 2025 Ladies Football All Ireland champion Niamh Hetherton, Meath football star Sean Rafferty and 2022 Camogie Player of the year Miriam Walsh.

Commenting on the launch of the 2025 Beko Club Champion, Cathaoirleach Comhairle Laighean Derek Kent said: "Beko’s ongoing support for clubs across Leinster has had a real and lasting impact over the past nine years."

He continued: "It not only provides valuable resources that benefit clubs on the ground, but more importantly, it shines a light on the often-unsung heroes whose dedication keeps our games alive at grassroots level. We’re delighted to continue celebrating and supporting that vital work through the 2025 campaign."
