Carlow County Council is "waiting on the delivery of a meter" to roll out its paid parking plans in Graiguecullen.
The matter came up at this month's meeting of Carlow Municipal District when area engineer, Pat Harrington, told members that once the machine arrives, staff will mark up the roads and the proposals are expected to be completed in the next fortnight.
There is a programme also to erect parking polls next week with signage to go up on those afterwards.
He warned that the only delay could be caused by weather conditions.
Cllr John Cassin asked about the cost of residential parking permits and if it was a permit per house or per car.
Once its completed, residents can apply for parking permits with a permit per vehicle as opposed to per house, Mr Harrington confirmed.
He could not confirm a price for the permits.
