CARLOW WEATHER: Cool and breezy day (Jan 31) with showers expected tonight

A cool and breezy day is expected today (January 31) with sunny spells. 

That's according to Met Éireann, which also forecasts scattered showers in north Connacht and Ulster and mainly dry conditions elsewhere. 

Highest temperatures will be between 8 and 10 degrees, feeling colder in fresh and gusty winds, strong in the north and west. 

Clear spells and showers can be expected tonight, mainly affecting the north and west, merging to longer spells of rain with a chance of hail. 

Lowest temperatures will be between 3 to 7 degrees.
