Wally Coleman announces his retirement and closure of his Carlow bicycle shop

After more than 150 years, Coleman Cycles will close the doors of their beloved family bicycle shop.

Many may remember Coleman Cycles as the place they purchased their first bike.

The family-run business is set to close on Friday, 22nd December, following the announcement of Wally Coleman's retirement.

Wally announced on social media his decision to retire, 'After decades of serving this incredible community, the time has come for me to embark on a new journey – retirement.'

'I want to express my deepest appreciation for the long-standing support you've shown me throughout the years. Coleman Cycles wouldn't have been the same without the smiles, stories, and shared love for cycling that you brought through the doors.'

'To our loyal customers, friends, suppliers and fellow cyclists – you've pedaled alongside me through countless adventures, and I'm filled with gratitude for the memories and the support you have shown over the years.'

'I would like to extend my heartfelt thank you to the people of Carlow and surrounding cycling and business community for being such a supporting network. Your support has been the driving force behind Coleman Cycles, and I am truly grateful.'

'Though I may be retiring and closing the shop, my love for cycling and the friendships forged within the walls of Coleman Cycles both Dublin Street and Charlotte Street will forever be remembered.'

'Here's to the end of one journey and the beginning of new adventures on and off the road.'
