“A refuge containing 8 family units of accommodation is planned for the county,” Dr O’Keeffe said.

“Additional supports have been allocated to the service provider to further build their capacity to undertake the operation of a refuge facility inclusive of ancillary services.”

“This facility is much-needed for Carlow. There will be eight family units that will help victims of domestic abuse. This is long overdue, victims of domestic violence in our locality have been waiting too long for this centre.”
