Tributes paid following the passing of 'lovely, gentle man' who will be 'sadly missed'

Patrick O' Connor of Rathnapish Carlow - April 3rd 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Patrick O' Connor of 1 Green Lane, Rathnapish, Carlow and formerly of O'Connors Pub, Ballitore, County Kildare, who passed away peacefully on April 3rd 2024, in Kiltipper Wood Nursing Home, Dublin.

Beloved husband of the late Sally, much loved father of Joseph, Owen and Brian, and adored grandfather of Sarah, Kevin, Katie, Maureen, David, Seán and Matthew.

He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Marie and Maeve, cousins, relatives and friends.

Tributes from the condolences section of Rip.ie read as follow:

"Sincere condolences to Joseph, Owen and Marie, Brian and Maeve, and all the family. He was a lovely, gentle, man and will be sadly missed. And it is the end of an era ... the last of his generation. May he rest in peace with Sally and all who have gone before him."

Another reads: "Condolences to Joseph, Owen and Brian on the sad passing of your dad Pat. Worked in the bar with him and Sally in the 70's. May he rest in peace."

And finally: "Our sincere condolences to the O'Connor family especially his grandaughter Katie on the passing of Patrick. May his gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq, Carlow, (Eircode R93 C863) from 4pm on Friday with Prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday at 10.15am to Ss Mary and Laurence Church, Crookstown, Ballitore, Co. Kildare (via Ballitore), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Jack and Jill Foundation.
