Tributes paid to 'one of life's gentlemen' following the death of local Carlow man

Tributes have been paid following the death of Ger O'Hara of Tuscany Downs, Green Road and formerly of St. Killian’s Crescent, Carlow.

Ger passed away suddenly in the great care of the Donal Hollywood Ward, St. James's Hospital Dublin on Monday the 22nd of April 2024.

eloved husband of Ann and much loved father of Linda and Louise. Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, brothers JJ, Paul and John, sisters Anne Marie, Brenda and Ursula, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and former colleagues from Lapple and Pfizer. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Florence and by his sisters Veronica, Georgina and Loretta.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: "We wish to express our deepest sympathy to Gers wife Ann and all the O' Hara family. Ger was one of life's gentlemen.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time
Rest in peace Ger."

Another reads: "I am saddened on learning of Gerry's sudden passing, knew him from Lapple (Irl) Carlow days, wired my house back in 1980, one great electrician/craftsman. May his gentle soul rest in peace."

And finally: "Our deepest condolences to Ann Linda and Louise and to the extended families on the sad passing of Ger . He was a true gentleman. May his gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangemnets

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Tuesday (April 23rd) from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10am in the Cathedral of the Assumption. Burial details to be confirmed.
