Tributes paid for Carlow man who was a 'pure and loving soul' following his passing

Edward Guthrie - 7th May 2024

Tributes paid for Edward Guthrie, Bough, Rathvilly, Co. Carlow, formerly of Oliver Bond and Tallaght.

Edward passed away suddenly at the Sacred Heart Hospital Carlow.

Predeceased by his loving wife Jane, infant daughter Anne Marie, brother Philip and sister Kathleen. Sadly missed by his loving family Patricia, Edward, Philip, Raymond, Linda, Bernie, Colm, Anthony, Darren and Janice, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers Paddy and Tomo, sisters Annie and Susan, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of RIP.ie and read as follows:

"Thoughts and prayers with you all at this sad time uncle neddy was a pure and loving soul may he rest in peace xx."

Another reads: "So sorry to hear of Neds passing what a kind gentlemen always smiling having a laugh was a pleasure to know Ned and meet his amazing family RIP Ned and condolences to his family at this sad time."

A third tribute reads: "Condolences to Bernie Janice and all the Guthrie family on the sad passing of your Dad may he rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at his residence on Saturday from 12 noon concluding at 8pm. House private thereafter, please. Funeral arriving to St. Patrick’s Church, Rathvilly, on Sunday for 11am Requiem Mass after which he will be laid to rest with Jane in Rathvilly Cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made directly to The Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow.
