John O'Brien - 13th May 2024
Tributes have been paid following the death of John O'Brien, St. Brigid's Crescent, Bagenalstown, County Carlow.
John passed away in his 92nd year on May 13th 2024, in St Luke's Hospital Kilkenny surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of the late Eileen O'Brien (née Gough). Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Anne, brothers Liam, Pat and Joe and his sister Maureen. Sadly missed by his daughter Mai (Leighlinbridge), sons Joe (Ballytatsna) and Pat (England), grandchildren Niall, Tara, M.J, Kevin, Sean, Patrick and Seosamh, their partners Elaine and Eddie, great-grandchildren Zach, Logan, Adam, Willow, Liam and Luke, daughter-in-law Catherina, son-in-law John, brothers Patsy, Tommy, Kevin and Willie, sister Anne, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: "Dear Mai, I was very sorry to hear of the death of your beloved Dad, and I offer you, your brothers Pat and Joe, all his extended family and everyone who knew and loved him, my very deepest sympathy on your devastating loss. He was a gentle, kind and caring person and a much loved member of our community. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. May John Rest in Peace."
Another reads: "Deepest sympathy to John's daughter Mai, his sons Joe and Pat, his brothers and sister and extended family, on John's sad passing, may he Rest In Peace."
A third tribute reads: "Deepest sympathy and condolences to Joe and family at the sad passing of your dad John. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Your friends and colleagues in ED are thinking of you."
Funeral arrangements
Reposing in Somers Funeral Home, Bagenalstown (eircode R21 DY66) on Wednesday, May 15th 2024, from 3.pm. Concluding with Funeral Prayers ay 8.pm. Removal on Thursday morning, May 16th 2024, arriving at St. Lazerian's Church, Leighlinbridge for Funeral Mass at 11.am. Burial afterwards in the Cemetery of the Assumption, Bagenalstown.
